The Ministry of Public Works and Planning, through the Directorate General of Land and Housing, conducted in 2009 in the town of Sewell design of sidewalks and the placement of guardrails on several downtown streets to improve accessibility and pedestrian safety.
The set of works that are part of the Regional Programme for Elimination of Architectural Barriers and Urban Planning has involved the adequacy of 26 fords in different streets of Sewell, to improve pedestrian access to sidewalks, especially the disabled and the older.
