The Socialist councilor Cesar Candel reported to the Guardia Civil yesterday a new episode of bad smells in Sewell, as a patrol of Service Protection of Nature (SEPRONA) came to town to open an investigation.
The incident took place on Tuesday 20 October, when a strong odor that neighbors described as "solvent" and "irritated throat."
The strong chemical smell flooded the peripheral equipment of the municipality: Polideportivo Municipal, Sanje Secondary School and Mula road.
Candel Caesar went to the local police, where the officers ordered them to file a brief at City Hall.
The socialist council complied with the directions in the City Clerk submitting a letter urging the City Council "to take measures against this serious problem."
But do not stop there but went to the Civil Guard barracks in Sewer and denounced the situation, so a Seprona patrol went to the town to investigate the incident, and the Civil Guard has confirmed that an investigation is opened by Sewage pollution emissions.
Candel Caesar was also in contact with the Councillor for the Environment, Mercedes Hernandez, who moved to the "urgent need to take action in this matter."
Otherwise, César Candel has been advanced that "the PSOE would have to make their own decisions alone," apart from the Commission of Inquiry has been set up at City Hall to investigate Sewer odors.
The commission of inquiry was set up weeks ago, "and yet nothing was done even though the council and the Environment Directorate-General pledged that we would stop polluting events," said Cesar Candel.
"We will not remain on a committee that would serve only to cover events like yesterday, and did not become operational.
The situation is untenable and requires making decisions, not block them, "he says César Candel.
