Civil Guard officers seized Murcia yesterday, near the fish market in the town of Sewell, 112 kilos of octopus (Octopus vulgaris), with an average weight of 260 grams per copy, and 4 , 30 killer hake (Merluccius merluccius), with dimensions of 17 inches, breaking the rules on statutory minimum sizes of fish species, 1 kilo and 20 cm respectively for the two mentioned.
The goods, which was transported in a vehicle with isothermal system when it was under control, was operated under the checkpoints fish transport are being carried out at various points in the Region of Murcia.
It so happens that the owner of the goods had been seized and now reported previously for similar violations.
The fish, upon declaration of suitability for consumption by an inspector of the Ministry of Health, has been given to various charitable institutions of Murcia.
The facts, constitute an administrative infringement of the legislation on marine fisheries, have been reported to the Directorate General of Livestock and Fisheries of the Ministry of Agriculture and Water of the Autonomous Region of Murcia.
