The City Sewer, through the Department of Social Welfare has provided the home help service through the Unit since October 2013. Sewell, along with only three other municipalities in the region, was a pioneer in providing of the service in collaboration with IMAS (Instituto Murciano Social Action), also with the peculiarity of direct management of the same, with its own personnel, which guarantees a higher quality of service, and there is a continuous monitoring of the largest and ongoing relationship with professionals direct their care and attention and personal tracking.
For the Mayor of Sewell, Joaquín Buendía "away to join budget cuts in provision of Social Welfare, the City Council has approved the extension of the collaboration agreement with the IMAS, for the provision of home help service for people dependent beneficiaries from 30 to 90 2016, regarding the Autonomous Region of Murcia, for these 90 grants have to join the 33 home help that the City Council maintains our municipal budgets. At that in 2016 in Sewell, the citizens of our town will benefit from aid to address more than 120 beneficiaries in total. "
The home help service for people in situations of dependency is a service consists of the set of actions carried out in the homes of people in situations of dependency in order to meet the needs of daily life and increase their autonomy, enabling retention therein.
They are the main actions:
Services related to personal care designed to promote and maintain personal autonomy of the beneficiary, to encourage good habits and acquire basic skills in performing activities of daily living.
Services related to the care of domestic needs or household cleaning, washing, cooking or others.
These services may be operated only in conjunction with those mentioned in the previous section.
