Over 160 people, including social and health professionals, seniors and students of 4th year of Secondary Sanje Institute, Center for Teaching and Samaniego Sacred Heart College in Sewell, participate in Intergenerational II Careers Symposium in Area of ​​Persons Older, held in the Social Centre for the Elderly in the town.
The meeting is organized by the center of Murcia Institute of Social Action (IMAS) Sewer in collaboration with Messengers of Peace and the Family Association of Relatives of Alzheimer and Dementia Sewer and Murcia (Afade) as well as the City Sewer.
The II Intergenerational Careers Symposium in Area of ​​Older Persons, with the theme 'Diversity of ages, the same space', are framed in the programming of Social Senior Center Sewer for this month to mark the European Day Intergenerational Solidarity, yesterday, April 29.
The CEO of Older IMAS, Enrique Perez, underlined "consolidation" of these days with this second edition, noting that "the goal is to remove and combat stereotypes between older and younger stimulating intergenerational contact, solidarity and social support recognizing the values ​​for each age group and their contribution ".
The contact between generations, Perez said, is "a key to understanding the past and the present and move into the future tool."
In this regard, he stressed that "intergenerational contact is only a first step and that what matters is getting generated and existing or those new links that are created between older and younger are strengthened."
The conference began with the intervention of social workers and social workers, and other professionals who have offered vocational guidance papers in the field of the major.
