Councillor IU-Greens in Sewell, Carmen Maria Pina, today accused the City Council and the Regional Government of "not an answer" on the causes that have led to "successive" air pollution episodes in the town.
Pina has reacted well after a meeting with the director and the deputy director of the Directorate General for the Environment, Amador and Encarnación López Molina; technicians that direction; Sewer Mayor spokesmen for the opposition and members of the Clean Air Platform.
The mayor has criticized the competent authorities "continue not to respond" to the increase in emissions of pollutants, and denounced the lack of action to address the worsening air quality.
He noted that the pollution episode suffered on Monday in the town for the cleanup of a raft of debugging Derivatives Chemicals business "is not the only one" that has taken place in the town in recent years.
"Sewer pollution episodes has suffered for a long time without the City Council and the general direction of the Environment have implemented appropriate measures, and the facts prove it," she added.
Pina has castigated Mayor Lazaro Mellado, that "restase importance" to what happened on Monday and achaque an episode to avoid odor was confirmed that increased emissions of toluene, derivative industrial chemical activity.
In addition, he explained that the position of IU-Greens at the meeting has been to emphasize the need to boost government measures to prevent these episodes, as well as keeping the population informed when they happen.
Councillor has indicated that local groups have called for a new meeting this afternoon at the session in order to know the details of the latest study of air quality in Sewell, of waiting to gather more information.
