The President of the Autonomous Community, Ramón Luis Valcárcel, today inaugurated the refurbishment of the road between the town of Sewell with the hamlet of Boatmen, which has significantly improved safety for drivers who pass this way, with an average density of more than 1,500 traffic vehicles.
Valcárcel, accompanied by the Minister of Public Works and Planning, Antonio Sevilla, visited part of this road, a distance of about five miles, and which has been invested 2,591,120 euros.
The Chief Executive noted that, despite the current economic situation, the action that has been undertaken to condition this road is an example that is continuing to invest in improving and in underpinning regional road communications.
In particular, the work in this way is of great social utility for locals, and for access to farms and rural roads, as said Valcarcel, "Boatmen is a district very dynamic."
This work has improved road safety through the extension of the platform, conditioning the expansion path with the radius of the curves, firm replacing the whole section and installation of new signage, both horizontally and vertically and marking.
Moreover, it has built a roundabout at the intersection with the way the string of Los Valencianos and extended the bridge over the Diversion Channel.
Similarly, they have managed to sort the traffic or the simultaneous circulation of two vehicles and ensure a comfortable pace to pedestrians transiting the area.
