Francisco Bernabé highlights the importance of prevention and training to improve coexistence and safety in schools
In the morning of today the Secondary Education Center Samaniego de Alcantarilla has been the chosen one to know the work that is carried out in the educational centers of the Region of Murcia, with the Master Plan for the coexistence and improvement of the security in the educative centers and its surroundings, in which the Ministry of Education and the Government Delegation of the Region of Murcia participate, with the objective of responding in a coordinated and effective manner to issues related to the safety of children and young people in the center education and its environment, strengthening police cooperation with educational authorities in their actions to improve coexistence and safety in the educational field.
In the presentation of the talk that was given today at CES Samaniego, its director Concepción Carrillo, welcomed the present authorities, the Government delegate in the Region of Murcia, Francisco Bernabé, the mayor of Alcantarilla, Joaquín Buendía and the councilors of Education, Juan Manuel Gómez and of Public Safety, Juan Antonio Mata, the director of the Area of ​​High Inspection of Education, Isabel Ruiz, as well as the chief inspector of the Sewer Station, Alberto Juan Benavente-García.
The mayor of Alcantarilla, Joaquín Buendía, thanked the Government delegate, as well as the National Police components that impart these talks and highlighted this morning the importance of preventive and training actions to improve coexistence and safety in schools and promote actions in this area to improve the personal safety of children and young people.
Bernabé has defended the Master Plan as an appropriate framework for this, because, through speeches by specialists from the Civil Guard and the National Police, he is helping to train students in respect for fundamental rights and freedoms and instilling in them important values ​​such as dignity and equality and to prevent behaviors of gender violence, racism or xenophobia.
The Master Plan, designed to bring public safety services closer to the school community to improve the trust of children and youth in the State Security Forces and Bodies.
This program is developed in Murcia uninterruptedly from the 2007-2008 academic year and the most frequently requested subject is bullying, Internet risks and social networks, as well as the danger of drug use.
The Plan is developed in schools that request it voluntarily and is adapted to the needs of the center itself, involving students, teachers and parents, together with the State Security Forces and Bodies, whose agents, through talks , meetings, exhibitions, conferences and monitoring, address the issues that are specific to the Plan:
Bullying
Drugs and alcohol
Violent gangs, racism and intolerance
Violence against women and discrimination
Risks of the Internet and social networks
