The Association of Friends of the Huerta Museum, together with the Sewer City Council, continue to carry out activities to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Sewer Garden Museum on March 10, this time on Friday afternoon- night, with an evening Trovera and discovery of a plaque in the sculpture of the Huertano monument and to identify the greatness of it and the authors, who were Nicolás Martínez and his son Anastasio Martínez Valcárcel.
The event began with the discovery of said plaque, by the president of the Association of Friends of the Huerta Museum, Ángeles Ramos, along with the mayor of Alcantarilla, Joaquín Buendía, accompanied by the councilor for Culture, Tourism and Celebrations, María Luisa Martínez León, who is also the granddaughter and daughter of the authors of this sculpture, which was commissioned by the then mayor of Alcantarilla, Diego Riquelme and Joaquín Martínez, both founders in 1968 said Museum.
The monument to El Huertano, is a work made by the sculptors Nicolás Martínez Ramón and his son, Anastasio Martínez Valcárcel, in 1966, called "Alegoría al Huertano", 2.50 meters high and carved on Abarán limestone .
