The events scheduled by the Board of Brotherhoods and Brotherhoods began last Ash Wednesday, with the Proclamation of Holy Week for Youth, for the first time in our municipality, by the young Elena Rodríguez Vidal.
This weekend we find the Homage to the Nazarene Sewer, which will be developed in these next two weekends, having as a central act next Sunday, February 18, a tribute to it in the sculpture of the main street, corner with Calle Nona and Calle Pasos, as well as the presentation of the official magazine and poster of our Holy Week 2018, presented on this occasion by the local writer, Paco Rabadán Aroca and the appointment of Cofrade Mayor of the Holy Week of Alcantarilla 2018, Juan Cánovas Orcajada.
Being all these acts organized by the Board of Pastoral Brotherhoods, in collaboration with the Town Hall Sewer, through the Department of Culture, Tourism and Celebrations, as well come and developed for the twelfth consecutive year, since the year 2007 was placed the sculpture of the Nazarene.
SATURDAY, February 16 VIA CRUCIS
This Friday, February 16, at 8:30 p.m., from the Parish of Ntra. Sra. De la Asunción, VÃA CRUCIS will begin, through the streets of the Campoamor district, presided over by the image of the Christ of Humiliation, belonging to to the Brotherhood of the Virgin of the Dolores and Santísimo Christ of the Mercy, having the musical accompaniment in charge of the group of music of Chapel "La Piedad" of Huéscar (Granada).
SUNDAY, February 18 HOMAGE TO THE NAZARENE DAY
On Sunday, February 18, at 11:00 hours, in honor of all the Nazarenes and members of the Sewer, it is planned to move from the Plaza de San Pedro through the Calle Mayor with the participation of the Band of Drums and Cornets "Centuriones from San Pedro ", from Alcantarilla, to the sculpture of the Nazarene, the work of the alcantara sculptor Anastasio Martínez Valcárcel, located in Calle Mayor, corner of La Nona and Pasos streets, where the homage to the Nazarene will be paid with the placement of a laurel wreath, from the hands of the mayor of Alcantarilla, Joaquín Buendía Gómez and the president of the Board of Fraternities and Brotherhoods Pasionarias, José Sánchez del Cerro, in homage and remembrance of all the Nazarenes, brothers and deceased brothers, with a responsibility offered by the parish priest of San Roque, José Miguel Nadal Beltrán.
There the "Centuriones de San Pedro", as has been usual for a few years, will perform a march of the band and composed of one of its members, David León del Tesoro.
From the place of the monument, about 12:00 hours, we will move to the Cultural Center "Infanta Elena", where the presentation of the official magazine and poster announcing the "Semana Santa 2018" will be made, by the local writer Paco Rabadán Aroca.
In this act, the Cofrade Mayor will be appointed, which on this occasion has fallen to Juan Cánovas Orcajada, for his many years of dedication to our Holy Week, as a Nazarene in the Brotherhood of the Most Holy Christ of the Good Death, as a brother, four years of President and, currently, Honorary President of the same or his ten years as Secretary of the Board of Government of the Brotherhood of St. John the Evangelist.
Likewise, the diploma that accredits the winner of the Photography Contest of the Holy Week poster, which was won by Emilio A. Cano, will be presented.
Magazine and poster announcer that for this Holy Week will contemplate the image of the Holy Christ of Health and Mercy, which parades the night of Holy Monday and is usually found and venerated both in the Church of San Roque and in its own Chapel in the Huerto de los Frailes neighborhood.
SA BADO, February 24 "" V NATIONAL COMPETITION OF RIBBON BANDS AND DRUMS "VILLA DE ALCANTARILLA"
On Saturday, February 24, at 8:30 pm, the V NATIONAL CEREMONY OF RIBBONS AND DRUMS BANDS "VILLA DE ALCANTARILLA, will be held in the Plaza de San Pedro, next to the Town Hall, with the participation of the Banda de la Cruz Roja de Tobarra (Albacete), Banda "Flagelación y Gloria" from Elche (Alicante) and our Banda de Cornetas y Tambores "Centuriones de San Pedro" from Alcantarilla.
