The City of Alcantarilla, through the Department of Works and Services, will proceed to resume in the coming days, the tender of the contract for supplies and services for the provision of energy services in the outdoor lighting facilities of the municipality of Sewer.
This tender began at the end of 2016, with its publication in the Official Gazette of the Region of Murcia.
Subsequently, the municipal group Ganar Alcantarilla-IU Verdes, appealed this tender before the Central Administrative Court of Contractual Resources, which gave the reason to the appellants and had as a direct consequence the suspension of the tender for this service that was underway.
The Alcantarilla City Council presented the corresponding appeal before the Superior Court of Justice, considering that the tender was carried out in accordance with the law, as well as the majority of municipalities in the country that had awarded these contracts with the same specifications as those used by this municipality. .
Recently, the administrative litigation room of the Superior Court of Justice, has resolved the appeal filed by the City of Sewer in the ordinary procedure 202/2017, giving the reason and leaving without effect the decision of the Central Administrative Court of Contractual Resources.
After this ruling, this City Council, in the coming days, will retake the tender for this service that will allow the renewal of more than 8,300 luminaries of our municipality and the western industrial estate, with an investment of 3,400,000 euros, assuming a important reduction in energy consumption, estimated at 73%, with the consequent economic savings and the reduction of tons of CO2 emissions to the atmosphere thus contributing to the improvement of the environment.
The purpose of the Sewer City Council, owner of the facilities, is to complete the complete renovation of all existing outdoor lighting installations, by new and modern facilities, which allows compliance with the new regulatory requirements, using lighting systems with LED technology and remote management, resulting in much more efficient and environmentally friendly installations.
We deeply regret the time that this municipality has lost with the suspension of the recruitment procedure after the appeal filed by the councilors of this city council, which has delayed the award and the beginning of energy and economic savings estimated at more than 100,000 euros per year.
