On the morning of today, the mayor of Alcantarilla, Joaquín Buendía, has inaugurated the first installation at regional level that allows the practice of Pumptrack.
The event was attended by Senator Nuria Guijarro, the General Director of Sports, Alonso Gómez, the General Director of Youth, Fran Sánchez, as well as the Councilors for Youth, Antonio Martínez and the Works and Services, Juan Antonio Mata.
At the opening ceremony, the many attendees, especially young people from our town, were able to enjoy the exhibition of Juan Vicente Giner Arcas, Champion of Spain in the Junior category of BMX.
The municipality of Alcantarilla has thus the first track Pumptrack in the Region of Murcia, after the request by the youngest to have an urban and appropriate place to practice their sliding sports, the City Council has provided them with this fantastic installation So innovative and so successful is there where they are built and from now on and a whole reality in our municipality.
A Pump Track, in addition to framing it in a sporting context, also has a recreational orientation, fun and enjoyment, with designs that are raised so that the installation can be rolled by both initiates and experts in an integrated "whole".
It is also an especially interesting space for beginners in this sport to start practicing the basic technique (inertias, cycling position, absorption of obstacles, turns, superelevations, jumps ...).
This type of circuits can be covered completely by bicycle without the need to give pedals, as well as on skates or scooters, only being driven by the inertia acquired in jumps and superelevations of the circuit.
Two tracks of different levels have been built, one for adults and one for children, in order to allow recreational-sporting practice by as many users as possible.
In total 280 square meters of asphalt on a plot of 730m2 of surface on the sports court that is located in the Florentino Gómez neighborhood, at the entrance of Alcantarilla, by the avenue of Murcia.
In total, the investment has been € 30,000 and the company Pumptrack Park SL has been responsible for its design and construction.
This new facility in our municipality is a new initiative of the Sewer City Council that becomes a pioneer municipality in the commitment to cycling, sports of inertia, as well as the implementation of these sports and recreational facilities for the future.
