There they were able to discover the complete program of leisure and cultural activities that have been programmed from the Murcia Institute of Social Action IMAS, on the occasion of Christmas in this center.
A morning of many illusions, great conviviality, prior to these Christmas, where they could attend and greet all the people who were this morning at the scheduled activity, go with some great cooks who made delicious donuts and share with them these moments so familiar and special for all.
Counselor Violante Tomás, who once again decided to come to Alcantarilla and share these moments with the elders of the "Diego Cubillana" center, visited a large exhibition of photographic panels, with the explanation of each of them, about the old trades of others times, from the woodcutter, aguador, alpargatero, aperador, arriero, barber, botijero, taberneros, tailors, umbrella stands, minute portrait painters in the street and coalman, as well as more than forty old trades, which have been prepared and investigated by two partners of said center, José Riquelme, professor and Juan Cánovas, photographer, both already retired.
The exhibition, as was done last April at the Infanta Elena Cultural Center, also aims to visit other centers in the capital and the region.
An invitation that the Councilor made to them so that they can also exhibit it in other IMAS centers.
One of the objectives of the exhibition is to give visibility to the cultural value of these old works.
According to the counselor, "surrounded by new technologies, we can forget that there was a time where you only needed two hands, a little imagination and a lot of willingness to start a trade." These are jobs that our elders grew up with, through which were developed, related and enjoyed. "
