In the mayor of Alcantarilla, Joaquín Buendía, attended today the Military Parade, chaired by Francisco Javier Fernández Fernández, chief colonel of the Sewer Air Base and director of the Military Parachute School "Méndez Parada", accompanied also of the Lieutenant Colonel, Chief of the Air Force Parachute Squadron of the Air Force (EZAPAC), Juan Carlos Fernández Casas, which was held at the Sewer Air Base, on the occasion of the celebration by the Blessed Virgin of Loreto, Patron of the Air Force .
With the military representation of the Commander of the Navy Protection Force (GEPROAR), Brigadier General Andrés Francisco Gacio Painceira.
Before the act that began at midnight, at ten thirty and in front of the Chapel, in the Plaza de Armas, the Bishop of the Diocese of Cartagena, José Manuel Lorca Planes, officiated for the first time in this Base, the Mass solemn in honor of the Patron, being sung by the Rondalla and Coro of the Group "Museum of the Huerta", of the Peña "El Barracón" of Alcantarilla, which has been doing so for twenty-five years.
Among the invited authorities were also present the president of the Superior Court of Justice of the Region of Murcia, Miguel Pascual del Riquelme and the Senior Prosecutor, José Luis Diaz Manzanera, as well as the general director of Citizen Security and Emergencies, José Ramón Carrasco and the senator of the PP, the sewer Nuria Guijarro Carrillo.
There were also representatives of the Municipal Corporation, as well as the mayor pedáneo of Sangonera la Seca, Cati Carrillo and two special guests of the Colonel, the mayors of Socuéllamos (Ciudad Real), Pruden Medina Alcolea and Bigastro (Alicante), Teresa Belmonte Sánchez.
In the Military Parade the different decorations were delivered, Colonel Fernandez addressed some words, having a very special memory for all those soldiers of the Base units that are on the patron's day in different countries in international peace missions.
The Hymn of the Air Force was sung to the sound of the Third Unit of Music of the Marine Infantry of Cartagena, taking place the tribute to Fallen by Spain and subsequent parade of the participating forces in the Military Parade, before to finalize the act, which was carried out as usual in the great events of the Sewer Air Base and if time does not prevent it, as was the magnificent day in terms of climatology, with the parachute launches and the Patrol's exhibition Acrobatic Air Force Parachutist (PAPEA), commanded by Captain José Luis Lomas.
