In the mayor of Alcantarilla, Joaquín Buendía, attended today the Military Parade, which is chaired by Luis Cebrián Carbonell, Major General Head of the Command of the Directorate of the Army General Inspectorate (GEDIACU), held in the Santa Barbara Barracks, in New Javalí, in the "Zaragoza" 5 Parachute Infantry Regiment, under the command of the Colonel, Luis Sánchez Tembleque, on the occasion of the celebration by the Immaculate Conception, Patron of the Infantry Weapon.
Among the invited authorities were also the Minister of Transparency, Participation and Spokesperson of the Regional Government, Noelia Arroyo, as well as the General Director of Citizen Security and Emergencies, José Ramón Carrasco.
Colonel Sanchez-Tembleque, who only has a week left in front of the Regiment, said that on this important day for the Infantry and Paratroops of the Army, this time the event was not held in the Esplanade Almogávares , but in the central square of the Aquarium, where a large flag of Spain already waves in it and before the memorial to the 184 deceased paratroopers who for different reasons gave their lives for Spain, for accidents in parachute jump, for terrorism or for actions in international missions.
In the Military Parade the different decorations were delivered, the Infantry Anthem was sung, the trophy of the sports championship was carried out and the tribute to the paratroopers Caídos por España and subsequent parade was carried out, before the end of the act.
At the end of both General Cebrián and the civil authorities who had met, they went to the room where the history of the Unit is located and verified different stages of it.
