On the afternoon of last Friday, the eve of the commemoration of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, Sewer was protagonist twice in the act of delivery of distinctions that the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, through the Department of Family and Equal Opportunities has held in the Regional Film Library "Paco Rabal" of our capital, to be distinguished the Psychosocial Emergency Sewer Group (GEPSA) of the Civil Protection Service, as well as in the tribute to the 21 CAVI of the Region, including the Sewer, for the achievement of the REGIOSTAR Award granted by the European Commission to this Autonomous Community, precisely for the Protocol of Socio-labor Insertion to women victims of gender violence
In an act that was chaired by Fernando López Miras, president of the government of the Region of Murcia and the Minister of Family and Equal Opportunities, Violante Tomás, along with other members of the regional government.
The award was collected by the mayor of Alcantarilla, Joaquín Buendía, who was always accompanied at the reception of the coordinator of said volunteering, Marta Caride and six of the sixteen volunteers who make up this extraordinary service in our municipality, there Eva Valencia , Cristina Teruel, Marina Ruiz, Marina Camacho, Ana Carolina Ortiz and Virginia Pérez.
The Councilor for Public Safety, Works and Services, Juan Antonio Mata, was also present at the delivery.
This unit offers an accompaniment service and psychological assistance in emergency situations, cases derived from the Urgent Telephone Support Device for abused women 112 Murcia Region, based on the collaboration agreement that the City of Alcantarilla signed with the Ministry of Health Family and Equal Opportunities, to reinforce the protection and integral assistance to the victims of gender violence, through the Psychosocial Sewer Emergency Group (GEPSA) of the Civil Protection Service of this municipality.
The evening also paid tribute to the 21 centers of Specialized Care for Women Victims of Gender Violence (CAVI), REGIOSTAR Award granted by the European Commission to this Autonomous Community, precisely for the Protocol of Socio-labor Insertion to women victims of violence of Gender, the Regional Government wants to recognize in this celebration, all and all the professionals of the RedCAVI and Labor Guidance of the SEF Offices, collecting all of them a replica of the prize collected in Brussels.
On behalf of our CAVI, the Social Worker, María Galián, attended with important work from the Community, together with the town councils, offering individual and group treatment, with psychological, legal and social assistance, among others, as well as assistance the training and in the job search.
Distinctions to people and entities
The winners this year were the Civil Protection volunteer service of Murcia, Lorca and Alcantarilla to reinforce protection and comprehensive assistance to victims of gender violence;
the Municipal Team of Integral Attention to Women Victims of Gender Violence;
and the CEPAIM Foundation, with its project 'New Girls 24 hours'.
In addition, there were special mentions for the Faculty of Nursing of the University of Murcia and the Association of Women New Horizons.
During the ceremony, a minute of silence was observed in memory of the three women who have been murdered this year in the Region, Beatriz Ros, Catalina Méndez and Rosa María Sánchez, as well as the rest of the victims of this type of violence.
