In the morning of today, in the facilities of the Department of Sports and Youth, located in our Covered Municipal Swimming Pool, has officially presented the program of activities of the "Young October 2017", a youth program that as a fundamental objective has the promotion of associationism, through the various activities that will take place on the weekend of Friday 27 and Saturday 28 October.
The presentation was made by Mayor Alcantarilla, Joaquín Buendía, regional director of Youth of the regional government, Francisco Sánchez, as well as the delegates of Sports and Youth, Antonio Martínez and Culture, Tourism and Festivities, María Luisa Martínez.
Mayor Alcantarilla highlighted "the presence of Murcia universities (UMU and UCAM) to publicize their work, youth associations in the municipality, as a Youth Association Draco et Martellus with the tournament of youth associations 3x3 basketball and initiation to the role-playing games, Jugger Association with a jugger exhibit, New Generations of Sewer with Pintacaras, "Shinobi" with Rubik's Cube tournament, as well as the exhibition of the Youth Skate Association. more with the presence of the Local Development Agency and the SEF, reporting in a stand on the Youth Guarantee Program currently being developed in our municipality.

Buendía also thanked "the companies that collaborate in the programming of Young October as Vigilant, Rocódromo 90 degrees and, in this edition for the first time, Carlin Bookstore and Press Workshop, with the meeting with the murcian author Begoña García, author of the book "Alas Mariposa" and the meeting with the author sewer Sergio Llanes, author of the book "El ocaso de los normidones." He also had a special section for all those companies and businesses that have disinterestedly collaborated in the various prizes, to those who from here we want to thank and encourage so that from now on continue to be part of the social and cultural framework of Alcantarilla.

In the cultural section we find graffiti contests, photography and painting, with important prizes, reaching the same 9,150 euros.
In this second edition of the International Short Painting Contest, for two categories, adults from 18 years, with 5,500 euros in prizes and for the youth category for participants between the ages of 14 and 17, with 750 euros in prizes, all of them contributed by Alcantarilla City Hall, Vicent López Foundation, Vigueras and Carrillo Law Firm, Marínocio Group, Chemical Derivatives, Hidrogea, West Industrial Estate Business Association, Vigilant, Sewer Merchants Association, Carlin Bookstore, Superdecor and Canvas Wallpapers.
Last year was already a success of participation and great quality of the works presented in this painting contest.
The third Graffiti Contest, this year will have the theme "Adapted Sport", which seeks to promote and disseminate art in our municipality, where young people from 14 years and up to 35, in a group or individual, with 1,200 euros for the winner, 700 euros for the second prize and 500 euros for the third classified.
We will also have the third Photo Contest, in collaboration with the Punto de Enfoque Photographic Association, with the motto: "Rincones de Alcantarilla", with the purpose of publicizing the different and peculiar corners of our municipality, with two prizes to the best photographs and five prizes with commemorative diplomas for the best photographs of local authors, with a total of 500 euros in prizes.
