The Alcantarilla City Council, aware of everyone's concern for the environment, reducing pollution and saving energy, has put in place the procedure to renew the more than 8,300 luminaires that are installed in Alcantarilla and in the Industrial Estate West, with an estimated investment of € 3,400,000.
This investment will mean a significant reduction in energy consumption, at 73%, with consequent economic savings.
On September 4, the period of public exposure of the VIABILITY STUDY, the first step in the bidding process for the service, in which no claim was presented, ended.
Now the Department of Works and Services continues with the tender procedure with the preparation of the Preliminary Project of Exploitation from the study of energy saving and efficiency in 2016.
Given the potential for energy savings detected in municipal outdoor lighting installations, the objective of Alcantarilla City Council, which is the owner of the installations, is to carry out the complete renovation of all existing outdoor lighting installations, by means of new and modern installations, allowing to comply with the new regulatory requirements, using lighting systems with LED technology and Telegestión, resulting in facilities that are much more efficient and respectful to the environment.
