This Summer School is carried out through the Department of Family and Equal Opportunities, with funding for the same of 21,190.40 euros and is carried out through the Department of Education in coordination with the Department of Social Welfare.
The main objective of the Bilingual Municipal Summer School project is to offer a resource that responds to the need to reconcile the family and work life of the parents of Alcantarilla, during the vacations of their daughters and sons, in a safe space , Facilitating the integration, learning and coexistence of minors and using English as a transversal axis in all workshops.
The School started on July 3 and will continue until August 31, from 9 to 14 hours, with a reception service from eight in the morning and the dining service from two to three in the afternoon During the month of July.
Also in attendance were the General Director of Family and Social Policies, Miriam Pérez, the General Director of Educational Centers, Maria Remedios Lajara, the Councilor for Social Welfare, Francisca Terol, the Councilor for Education, Juan Manuel Gómez and the Director Of the CEIP "Our Lady of the Assumption", Francisco García.
At the event, Violante Tomás stated that the regional government allocates more than 40 million euros to the social care of families in the Region who are vulnerable, covering food, hygiene, clothing, housing and employment needs.
"Of these grants, more than two million euros, they are dedicated to municipal social projects, municipalities and mancomunidades, so that they can finance the social action plans that they develop throughout the year.A total of 17,132 people and 4,859 Families benefited in 2016 from these grants, "said the counselor.
The Municipal Summer School has seen a significant increase in children, compared to last year, since during July there are 35 more children participating, while in August it is increased by 27 children more than The previous, seeing the ratios.
Some of the participating children are for fortnights, three smaller the first and another three the second fortnight, assuming this measure a greater coverage of students.
The financing of this Summer School, comes through the grant obtained by this City Council of Family and Equal Opportunities, which for projects of Support to Family and Children granted us € 55,781, of which € 21,190.40 €, have gone for this project to support the Reconciliation of Family Life, with the Summer School and € 34,590.60 for aid that the Family and Children are granted as a social emergency, books, food, housing, etc.
In the Summer School activities are developed with traditional games (rope and elastic, pilla pilla, prisoner ball, hiding place, one two three English chocolate, domino / chess, parchís / oca, card games).
Sports games for children between 3 and 6 years old, with balance and aim games, psychomotricity games, imitation / role play games, body expression and motor coordination.
And for those between 7 and 13 years old, tracks and obstacles, speed tests, balance and aim, ball, batukada child, games for soccer, games for volleyball, games for handball and games for basketball.
In Plastic, we find activities (adapted to the ages of each group), painting on various surfaces, preparing parties, painting in large formats (murals and walls), painting and sculpture.

They will also have culinary activities, with those of Masterchef, both individually with the elaboration of a recipe in an autonomous way, grouping the recipe by groups of 4 or 5 students and in a large group with the elaboration of a cake among all and all.
To develop also the activity of the Water Festival, with two sessions of Friday (each week) dedicated to the game and fun with water.
