Last Wednesday the Governing Council of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia approved collaboration agreements to continue providing Early Childhood services to children under 6 years in five municipalities, among which is Alcantarilla.

Specifically the regional contribution will be € 44,000 which, together with the more than € 46,000 provided by the City Sewer, makes a total of € 91,000 intended for this purpose.

This amount will be significantly increased when the Draft Early Warning prepared by the Regional Government, whose process is very advanced, is advanced.

The alterations or deficiencies in the children that are being attended at the moment are, psychomotor alteration;

Psychomotor retardation;

Sensory deficit;

Cognitive delay;

General developmental disorder-autistic spectrum;

Alteration due to attention deficit;

Alteration of language;

Plurideficiencias;

syndrome;

Encephalopathy and biological risk.

The main objective of this service is that children who present disorders in their development or risk of suffering receive all that from the preventive and care, and following a model that considers the psycho-social aspects, can enhance their capacity for development, Enabling its integration

The Center of Early Attention attends with a psychologist, a speech therapist and a physiotherapist to children, resident in the municipality of Alcantarilla, of 0 to 6 years, that present some alteration (transitory or permanent) or are at risk of suffering it , Due to biological causes (low birth weight, problems in childbirth ...) or socio-environmental (poverty, drug addiction ...).

The family is also taken care of since it constitutes an active agent indispensable in the intervention.

Its main objectives are to improve the quality of life of the child and their families, favoring a greater degree of functionality and autonomy.

To optimize, promote, facilitate and / or enhance the development of all developmental possibilities of any child with developmental or risky developmental disability, reducing the effects of a deficiency or deficit on the overall development of the child or The child and avoiding or reducing the occurrence of side effects or associated with a high risk disorder or situation.

Plan and carry out actions aimed at developing or making possible the family, educational and socio-environmental integration options of each child.

And support the reconciliation and compatibility of working life with care for the family of mothers and fathers of daughters and children from 0 to 6 years old with some type of disability or difficulty in their development.

At present, this center serves a total of 56 children, with 38 children being followed up.

All of them will be able to continue using this service thanks to the renewal of this collaboration agreement between the Regional Government and the Alcantarilla City Hall.
