The Hydrographic Confederation of Segura (CHS), an agency under the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Food and Environment, has outlined the channel and restored the drainage channel of Las Zorreras rambla in Alcantarilla.
This action is included in the emergency works that the basin body is carrying out to mitigate the damages caused by the floods of last December.
The works consist of outlining the channel of the rambla and restoring the drainage channel, which will increase the safety of the channel in the event of avenues of water, a phenomenon that usually occurs in autumn.
Likewise, the basin organization is eliminating reeds and reed because its invasive action may also be detrimental to the correct hydraulic functioning of the rambla.
The environmental limitations to act in the channel have led the CHS to start work at this time, since it is now when the nesting period of waterfowl has ended.
