The general director of Citizen Security and Emergencies, José Ramón Carrasco, today visited the Alcantarilla air base, where he learned of the installations where, since 2004, the helicopter of the Ministry of Presidency and Development was located, and greeted his Crew members (pilot and mechanic), members of the heli-supported forest brigade, environmental agent and extinguishing technician of the General Directorate for the Environment, as well as rescue firefighters belonging to the Air Rescue Group of the Fire Extinguishment and Rescue Consortium Of the Region of Murcia.
The director was greeted by the head of the base, Colonel Fernando Goy, who expressed the desire of the regional administration to continue using these military facilities as a basis for the aforementioned emergency services.
In this regard, Carrasco noted that the helicopter of the Council based on Alcantarilla has participated in virtually all major emergencies that have occurred in the region, from forest fires to the search and rescue of missing persons.
