The socialist regional deputy Yolanda Fernandez has urged the Minister of Environment to give the corresponding explanations on the reasons for the high levels of benzene and toluene in the town of Sewell, "explanations so far has been unable to give us."
Fernandez has met with representatives of the Platform for Clean Air, along with members of the Municipal Sewer Socialist Group, to find concrete solutions to air pollution problems affecting Sewell, New Javalí and the whole area around solutions.
He recalled that since last July are occurring daily high pollution, both of benzene, toluene and so that the Socialist parliamentary group has already presented various initiatives on this issue.
"We have presented several initiatives in the Regional Assembly in relation to this problem, including a question to the minister that we are hoping is ordered in the next plenary session in which to appear," said the Socialist deputy.
"With this inefficiency Improvement Plan Air Quality approved by the regional government shows", he added.
Meanwhile, the spokesman of the Socialist Municipal Group in Sewell, Gabriel Esturillo, has warned that it is advisable for the health of citizens is not exceed 15 milligrams of toluene, and in Sewell have come to reach 738 milligrams.
