The Municipal Socialist Group in the City Sewer has filed a series of motions to request the redistricting of certain services.
The municipal spokesman, Gabriel Esturillo, says that "we have witnessed a policy of unbridled privatization of public services by the Popular Party in recent years. They have proposed dismantling the welfare state because they do not believe in it, and show its commitment to privatization and the exclusive corporate profit above the social benefit ".
Esturillo claims that "the argument used that private management is more efficient and profitable than public has proven to be a dangerous fallacy, a lie. The corruption increasingly widespread, malfunctioning, the extra costs of control and difficult to justify , cuts and job insecurity, are a sign of that great lie that is the privatization process as a panacea and magical solution. "
The Municipal Socialist Group considers necessary to direct public management of certain services in Sewell, given the obvious advantages of it.
This public, efficient and rational management eliminates the goal of corporate profit, replacing social benefits.
In addition, it also eliminates tax items, such as VAT, increasing economic room for improvement in quality of services rendered themselves.
Esturillo adds that "if all this we add the ability to control the quality of the social and working conditions of contracted staff, ensuring compliance with labor laws and the protection of their rights, we show the benefits, both economic and social, public management direct ".
Finally, Esturillo says that "direct public management would, in a municipality where participation and transparency is real and effective, and not pure advertising fiction as usual in the management of the Popular Party, users and workers to participate in the service management ".
