Owners who have selflessly given to the Ethnological Museum of the Huerta Sewer for exhibition
It has enjoyed the cooperation of the Heritage Service of the Region and the City Sewer
The Civil Guard in the region of Murcia, under the 'Plan for the Protection of Spanish Historical Heritage', has developed an investigation that has allowed locating a heraldic shield dating from the eighteenth century and declared of cultural interest, finally, it has been altruistically donated by their owners to the Ethnological Museum of the Huerta de Alcantarilla (Murcia).
The investigation began when specialized in the defense of regional heritage Civil Guards were gathering information about objects and goods, declared of Cultural Interest (BIC), through registration Heritage Service of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia (CARM) and the catalog of buildings and natural, historic, artistic or environmental protection, including the land-use planning in the municipality of Culvert elements.
The detailed study of the records has revealed that one of the parts, corresponding with a heraldic shield dating from the eighteenth century was, for administrative purposes, disappeared for more than thirty years.
The Civil Guard has developed an investigation to identify the holders of the piece and determine his whereabouts, with the aim of facilitating their registration in the corresponding census of public administration.
The performed investigations have culminated with its location in an address Sewer.
The owners of the piece have actively collaborated with the Meritorious research, which has revealed that the shield was removed from the facade of the house where he was, because of some reforms in the '80s.
According to Decree 571/1963 on the protection of coats of arms, Law 16 / 1985de Spanish Historical Heritage and the Law 4/2007 of Protection of Cultural Heritage in the Region of Murcia, these stone goods must be preserved in their original place and if any reason are removed, there is the obligation to place it back in its original place.
Experts Heritage Service of the CARM and the City Sewer, in collaboration with the Civil Guard have confirmed the authenticity of the piece and its cultural value, finally, and the result of the contribution of the owning family, has been moved to the Museum ethnological de la Huerta Sewer for deposit, restoration, preservation and exhibition to the public.
