The group of students of 3rd ESO Concerted Samaniego Center Sewer Education, which for the second consecutive year, participating in the XXII edition of Euroscola Competition, dedicated to the 30 years of Spain in the European Union (1986-2016) City Sewer visited and interviewed the Mayor of Sewell, Joaquín Buendía and Alderman of Education, Juan Manuel Gómez, accompanied by professors who are leading the project, Martin Garcia and Conchi Espejo.
This contest is organized by the Information Office of the European Parliament in Spain, in collaboration with the Representation in Spain of the European Commission and the Secretary of State for the European Union (Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation).
The purpose of the call of this contest is to reflect with young people about the process of transformation of Spain from its integration into the European Union in 1986;
promote critical thinking, value what we have achieved and analyze the challenges and challenges for the future.
The interviews were part of programmed activities in which they participated, as have been the March 12, on the day of the Spring Center, an exhibition for parents and families of students in the CES Samaniego took place, where as students with their hands elaborated a mural with the flags of Spain and the European Union, the biggest could leave your message on the achievements of these 30 years in our country and the challenges we face in the future.
On March 16, the students participating in Euroscola made a presentation with the help of digital media students from 3rd to 6th grade, for them to know in a closer way that is the European Union and the developments that have occurred in the last 30 years as well as awareness of the problems that currently exist.
Surveys have been conducted to teachers, workers of the Center, members of the AMPA, and people interviewed on the street with the intention to learn more about these 30 years, the findings of this study have been compiled in an information created by students.
In recent weeks they have visited and interviewed those responsible for the Europe Direct Office of the Region of Murcia, the European Documentation Centre and the Office of European Projects at the University of Murcia.
Culminating all these actions with the visit of support for the project and the corresponding interview yesterday were in Samaniego Education Center itself, with the Director General of Citizen Participation, European Union External Action Pleguezuelo Manuel Alonso.
All these initiatives and activities will be collected on a blog that will be evaluated by a jury.
Winners will be awarded participation in the Euroscola Programme of the European Parliament at its headquarters in Strasbourg and financial assistance to defray the travel expenses.
