Huermur has filed various complaints since 2016 for the poor state of conservation of the Hermitage of Our Lady of Peace in Alcantarilla, as it is a monument declared a BIC Cultural Interest Site, and now the Ministry of Culture agrees with the entity stating the worrying state of the property. The General Directorate of Cultural Assets has prepared a report after the last Huermur complaint, where numerous construction pathologies are put on the table, probable dangers to the structure and integrity of the property, and the existence of works in the environment of protection without authorization. Huermur reproaches Culture for having taken five years to carry out a specific opinion on the state of the monument after Huermur's complaints, the last one in January 2021, and is considering demanding explanations from the counselor in the Regional Assembly for the unjustified delays in the processing of the file. The Association for the Conservation of the Huerta and the Heritage of Murcia (Huermur) denounces the worrying state of conservation of the unique Hermitage of Nuestra Señora de la Paz, located in the area of ??La Voz Negra de Alcantarilla, dated in the 18th century, and declared a BIC Cultural Interest Site in 2009.
This monument, nestled in the heart of Murcia's orchard, has numerous flaws and construction pathologies, such as cracks, subsidence, dampness, and areas that threaten the danger of collapse or loose parts. The general poor state of conservation of this BIC was denounced by Huermur in the Ministry of Culture in 2016, in 2018, and the last time in January 2021, without it having been until now, almost five years later and after the insistence of Huermur in the General Directorate of Cultural Assets in recent weeks, when a clear and detailed report on the state of the hermitage and the urgent measures that must be undertaken has been notified. In the report notified to Huermur by the council, it is indicated that on February 4, 2021, a delegation from the regional Historical Heritage Service appeared at the monument to inspect the current state of conservation of the hermitage and its protective environment.
As a result of said inspection, it has been verified according to Culture, the existence of dampness, vegetation, a poor condition of the roof with subsidence and breaks, cracks in the load-bearing walls, as well as "a longitudinal crack along the main body of the hermitage coinciding sensibly with its symmetrical axis in plan, in addition to encounters with walls, indicating possible structural movements and a probable danger to the integrity of the property ".
It has also been detected "cracking and loss of material in the bell tower above the main entrance, suggesting a danger of collapse or falling loose parts.
The state of the altarpiece inside the hermitage is deficient, showing cracks, degradation and lack of materials ". The General Directorate of Cultural Assets, in view of the worrying state of conservation of the historic hermitage, has ordered the immediate implementation of urgent conservation measures, such as shoring the slab, stitching cracks, replacement of the roof, elimination of dampness, and removal of electrical wiring, among many other actions. In the same sense, the president of Huermur, Sergio Pacheco, points out that: "This recent Culture report proves us right, and puts on the table the worrying state of conservation of the singular monument that Huermur has been insistently denouncing since 2016." Likewise, Huermur denounced the carrying out of works and the installation of various elements and electrical towers in the protection environment that would be contrary to the cultural heritage regulations, and now the Ministry of Culture has reported that they were carried out and installed without the corresponding Permits and prior authorizations in the protected environment of the monument. Huermur highlights the historical importance of the place of the Black Voice, between Nonduermas (Murcia) and the municipality of Alcantarilla, which could be the burial place of the Moorish kings of Murcia during the Taifa kingdoms, and in the times of our Reconquest , there were famous skirmishes between Moors and Christians in the 13th century. The monument of the Hermitage of Peace without the visitation regime required by law. Huermur also denounced in the Ministry of Culture the absence of a schedule and visiting regime required by Law 4/2007 on Cultural Heritage of the Region of Murcia.
The conservation entity communicated to the General Directorate of Cultural Assets that it has not been possible to verify the visitation regime on BIC, and pointed out the existence of a sign at the entrance with the phrase "Private property - No Trespassing". Faced with this situation, Culture has reported that free public visits must be allowed at least four days a month, on days and hours previously indicated, and this information must be recorded in an accessible and public way in an appropriate place in the BIC. function { ;(, , {});}
