A total of 1,063 students of 5th Primary, 2nd and 4th ESO and 1st Bachelor of the educational centers of Alcantarilla have attended this week the telematic talks on 'Marine Garbage: a global tide out of control', organized by the City Council, through the Department of Education, Culture and Youth, in collaboration with the Gavva Club.
The students were able to connect live with the director of the European Environment Association, Daniel Rollari, who explained the problems of pollution of the seas and oceans, not only for the environment, but also the impact that garbage has on the economy, tourism , public spending and people's health.
The objective, in addition to the search for solutions, is to sensitize students about the social, economic and environmental dimensions of marine litter in the world, present initiatives and projects for change and explain how they can contribute to solving the problem from the perspective responsible consumption, the reuse of waste or biomimicry, that is, the search for solutions in the mechanisms of nature itself, among others.
