First of all and mainly I want to highlight the great work being carried out by the Mayor of Alcantarilla, Joaqu n Buend a.

For months now, food has been guaranteed to feral cats in controlled colonies and castrations are also being carried out on them, all paid for by the municipality of this municipality.

This Mayor is very aware of the welfare of animals and this proposal is worthy of admiration by the rest of the municipalities of the Murcia Region. But there is still a long way to go because these cats that live or rather survive in the streets, have sad endings because unfortunately they are killed on many occasions. There are volunteers who are in charge of managing these colonies, feeding them daily and maintaining those areas in the best possible way, dedicating many hours, only love moves them towards them, but not all neighbors want to have colonies of cats a few meters away.

from their homes, feeling annoyed when they see containers with feed and water, wherever they go, so their complaints and reprimands towards the volunteers are more and more frequent. For this reason, the Administration must act quickly so that these disputes stop occurring, especially so that good coexistence between neighbors occurs.

You must listen carefully to those suggestions that associations and protectors propose to you, in short, you must allow yourself to be advised by experts in this matter. These cats urgently need homes to house food and everything they need so that they can take shelter and rest.

In this way, all the containers that give the appearance of neglect or dirt to our streets disappear from the environment. There are undeveloped areas that belong to the City Council, which can be transferred to offer quality of life to our stray cats.

All neighbors, both animal lovers and those who are not, must live in harmony and peace, and one way to achieve this is the absolute protection of these cats, avoiding confrontations between them. Joaqu n Buend a, is doing a lot for the municipality and is an example to follow but we need a little more agility and haste because many cats are in danger on the streets, and they could be victims of poisoning (as has already happened) by cruel people unable to see that these animals do tremendous social work such as keeping each corner free of insects, rats and mice.
