The Alcantarilla City Council will rehabilitate the room that is part of the facilities of the Virgen de la Paz Hermitage to contribute to the revitalization and integration of the Las Tejeras neighborhood with the organization of socio-cultural and institutional activities. The bishopric of Cartagena has granted the use of this building, located on Calle M dico Pedro P rez Hurtado, so that, once it has been rehabilitated, the neighborhood's cultural and social associations can organize activities and meetings. The Las Tejeras neighborhood celebrates the Virgen de la Paz festival every year around January 24.
The tradition of devotion to this virgin dates back to the 13th century and in the 18th century the old hermitage was built, in the place of La Voz Negra.
In the 80s the party happened to be celebrated in the neighborhood.
