The educational centers of Alcantarilla have participated in the call to elect boys and girls from 4th, 5th, and 6th of Primary and 2nd and 4th of ESO who will be part of the Organ of Participation of Children and Alcantarilla Adolescence (OPIA). OPIA is an organization that gives children a voice and allows them to participate in proposals that affect them.
It will be made up of 16 representatives of the municipality's student body, along with representatives of the teaching staff, mothers and fathers and Third Sector organizations that work with Children. In total, 236 candidates have been presented and next week the students who will represent the 8,000 students from all the educational centers of Alcantarilla, who will be summoned for the constitution of the Body, will be announced. The constitution of OPIA is one of the commitments adopted by the City Council with Unicef ??for the concession of a Child Friendly City.
The Department of Education, has been in charge of informing educational centers, raising awareness about the importance of participation, training candidates for the electoral campaign, until the elections are held.
