His time at the University of Murcia has led to the adaptation of the center to the needs of students like him and his effort has earned him the recognition of the Presidency of the Government and the City Council of Alcantarilla, his hometown. The Colegio de Educación Especial Maestro Eusebio Martínez has been distinguished "for its extraordinary work in the education of children with disabilities and the dedication of its professionals, which have made it a benchmark in special education since its creation in 1991," he stressed.

The International Day of Persons with Disabilities was declared in 1992 by the General Assembly of the United Nations to promote the rights and well-being of people with disabilities in all areas of society.
