Alcantarilla kicks off the 2020 Christmas festivities, with the special lighting of the streets tomorrow, Friday, December 4, at 6:30 p.m., on Calle Mayor. During the lighting of the Christmas lights, the sewers will be able to enjoy the performance of the singer Salva Ortega and the saxophonist Juan Borres, who will move on a platform from Nicolás Appert street to Termino street in a traveling concert through the streets of Alcantarilla. Among the novelties of this year is the 18-meter pine that has been installed in the Adolfo Suárez square and the one that was traditionally placed there has been moved to the San Pedro square.
The Tres Culturas and de la Libertad squares and Cabezo Verde also have new trees. Another novelty is the photocall installed in Cayitas, San Roque and Avenida de Lourdes.
In addition, the City Council has decorated Campoamor, the Lorca Station, the Jardín de la Constitución, the Las Flores and San Roque squares, the Martínez Campos and Santa Ana avenues and the entrances to the West Industrial Park.
All the lights will be installed until January 6 and are led, much less polluting than traditional lighting. The Christmas program includes children's activities, music, theater, crafts, storytelling, contests and the visit of the Three Kings on January 5.
Meanwhile, the pages will collect the children's letters from the royal mailboxes in Plaza Adolfo Suárez, Lourdes, Cayitas, San Pedro, San Roque and Constitución from December 26.
