Starting tomorrow, Wednesday, December 2, all the parks, gardens and playgrounds in Alcantarilla will be open, given the decrease in positive cases due to Covid and the passage to phase II of regional healthcare risk. The mayor of Alcantarilla, Joaquín Buendía, pointed out that "thanks to the effort and commitment of all the neighbors, we have managed to lower the incidence rate in Alcantarilla and, therefore, that we can reduce a little the painful measures that we had to adopt to contain the pandemic.
" Likewise, the health authorities allow the terraces to be opened to one hundred percent of their capacity as of tomorrow, which "supposes a respite for the hotel and trade sector, a sector that is being heavily hit and that is making a special effort in recent months, "the mayor reaffirmed. The Alcantarilla City Council decreed the closure of all playgrounds in the parks on August 24, in order to avoid crowds.
Parks, gardens and squares have been sealed since the second wave reached its peak of contagion on November 4, a measure that was added to the closure of hospitality establishments by the regional government. Buendía recalled that "the best help that we can provide to hoteliers is to strictly comply with sanitary measures, social distance, the use of a mask, hand hygiene and avoid crowds, which must now be considered as an act of solidarity towards others ".
