| The ceremony was held by streaming and closed doors at the Infanta Elena Cultural Center, to respect the security measures against Covid | The winners in the XVIII International Contest of poetry and humorous story 'Jara Carrillo' received their awards tonight in an awards ceremony that was held in streaming and closed doors, respecting the security measures against Covid-19, in the Infanta Elena de Alcantarilla Cultural Center. Madrid's Ana Rosa García Romero received the first prize for poetry, for 'Monogamous Words', and the Argentine Maximiliano Sacristán, the first prize for a humorous story, for 'El reidor lacrimoso', both endowed with 1,600 euros. The second prize went to 'Hamlet seems to me an alarmist', by Javier Revilla from Madrid, in the form of poetry, and for 'Jam Sesion', by Juan Carlos Fernández León, endowed with a prize of 900 euros and a sculpture of the Murcian artist Belén Orta who represents an allegory of humorous literature. The finalists have been Josefa María Valenzuela (Totana) with 'Naked transparency', José Luis Méndez (Madrid) with 'Capital Fables' and Ramón Bascuñana (Orihuela) with 'Cosas', in the form of poetry. In the humorous story mode, the finalists have been Raúl Héctor Lombardi (Buenos Aires) with 'Odontofobia', Marcelo Horacio Galbán (Buenos Aires) with 'Parte de otro' and Pedro Luis Gil (Cartagena) with 'La tilde'. All the finalist works will be published in the next book, along with the winners of this year 2020 and 2021. In total, 714 literary works have been presented, by authors from all over Spain, several countries in the rest of Europe and also from Latin America, mainly Argentina, Cuba, Mexico, Peru and Colombia.
