On Wednesday, November 25, Day Against Gender Violence, a manifesto against this social scourge will be read in the Plenary Hall of the City Council and a minute of silence will be observed in memory of the victims.
At dusk, the façade of the City Hall will be illuminated in purple. In addition, the Department of Social Welfare, Family and Women, will distribute masks with the slogan 'Uncover violence' at the main access to the weekly market, in front of Calle Estación de Lorca. Radio Sintonía Alcantarilla has also joined the commemoration of this day, with the programming of a round table in which the heads of the CAVI of Alcantarilla participate, at 12 noon. Teaching materials The City Council sent teaching materials to all educational centers in Alcantarilla over the past week so that they can work on the issue of equality between men and women in the second year of Primary Education. It is a card game so that, through the game, students become familiar with roles and stereotypes that are subliminally marked by society and that may affect their actions in the future. The goal is to eliminate sexism from the earliest ages and encourage the development of their own criteria in younger students.
