The training denounces the inability of the Government team to try to at least reach a consensus agreement on local accountsThe municipal group of Citizens has labeled as "conservative and lacking in support measures for commerce, hospitality, self-employed and SMEs" the local budget project, which the PP Government team takes to the plenary session this afternoon.
The local spokesman, José Manuel López, has criticized that “while all the consistories are enabling contingency funds for these groups and channeling the aid that the regional coalition government is allocating to their recovery, Alcantarilla lacks this type of emergency fund ”.
In his opinion, this decision "leaves more than 2,200 local self-employed in the lurch" and shows that "the priority of the Government team is not the economic and social future of our municipality."In this sense, López has remarked that most of the budget is destined “to pay the debt accumulated by the mayor's party companions, which adds up to 26 million and leaves us tied hands and feet until 2023 through a severe plan of adjustment".
He has also criticized the fact that during the 2020 budget the large amount -300,000 euros - has been executed to pay convictions, "an amount that could have been used to define a commercial action plan or the reinforcement of social policies. On the investment chapter, the local orange spokesman has highlighted its scarcity and excessive dependence on those made from other administrations, while criticizing that "it has not been tried to lower taxes to boost the local economy."López also considers "meager" the item to promote youth employment, which stands at 36,644 euros "also fully subsidized by the General Directorate of Youth, without additional support from the government team. The orange spokesperson has highlighted that it has been the Citizens' Councils in the regional coalition Government “which are supplying the financial support to get out of the crisis, such as the more than 650,000 euros transferred from the Council for Women, Equality, LGTBI, Families and Social Policy for home help, food for children at risk of exclusion or work-life balance projects, among others.
Also the departure of the Ministry of Transparency and Public Administration for the new Citizen Security Plan, aimed at strengthening the capacities of the Local Police or the construction of a new fire station, as well as an injection of 40,000 euros to stimulate and promote commerce local through the Ministry of Business, Industry and Spokesperson.
