The Alcantarilla City Council closes as of today all public spaces that can be used for meetings of people, as an exceptional measure to contain the advance of the pandemic caused by Covid-19.In this way, the Local Police and the personnel of Works and Services begins this afternoon to fully and progressively close the squares, parks and gardens of the municipality with fences and tape prohibiting passage.As the mayor, Joaquín Buendía pointed out, "the evolution of the pandemic marks the times and the decisions that we have to make, like this one, urgently and with the sole purpose of safeguarding the health of our neighbors, which is what more important right now.
"This measure is supported by the recommendation of the regional health authorities to close the parks and gardens, as well as all the hotel establishments in the Region, except the sale of food to consume at home.Since the end of August, the children's games in all the parks in the town have been sealed to avoid the contagion of the little ones and the concentration of people.According to the latest data released today by the Ministry of Health, Alcantarilla reaches 246 people with positive CRP in the last seven days, almost double than a week ago and the cumulative incidence in the municipality rises to 585 per 100,000 inhabitants.
