| The Ministry of Defense and the San Antonio Murcia Catholic University signed a collaboration agreement to carry out teaching and research activities in the health field in January 2020 | The Military School of Parachuting has also collaborated with the University of Murcia (UMU) in the completion of Doctoral Theses, Scientific Articles and Final Master's and Degree Projects in the last 7 years. UCAM is among the best Universities in the World, according to the World University Rankings, prepared by The Times Higher Education, which includes more than 1,500 universities from 92 different countries. Today the Alcantarilla Air Base has received a very special student, Mr.
Jose Mª Rocamora García, who is enrolled in the 4th Course of the Degree in Physiotherapy at the San Antonio de Murcia Catholic University (UCAM). He is the first Physiotherapy student who will carry out his daily supervised internships in an Armed Forces Unit, under the collaboration agreement signed between the Ministry of Defense and the UCAM, to carry out teaching and research activities in the health field, published in January this year. He will be joined by three other students, who will overlap until completing the academic year, thus reaching the four places offered to students at the University. Despite the fact that the figure of the physiotherapist does not exist within the Armed Forces and the Ministry of Defense does not have, therefore, personnel dedicated to physiotherapy as its main function, the students will be supervised by three soldiers with degrees in Physiotherapy assigned to the Sewer Air Base Units (the Military Parachute School, the Parachute Sapper Squad and the Air Force Parachute Acrobatic Patrol), and will attend to the paratroopers of said units, who, due to the work they perform, usually present a wide variety of musculoskeletal injuries and disorders, susceptible to receiving physiotherapy treatment.
