| The Management Committee of the Lonja has also been created to ensure compliance with regulations and respect for transparency in its management | The Local Council of Commerce of Alcantarilla culminated today its constitution as a sectoral body of citizen participation, with the appointment of the representatives that comprise it by the City Council, the merchants associations and the local economic and social agents of a local nature.The members are the mayor, Joaquín Buendía, as president, the Councilor for Employment and Commerce, Mariola Alegría, as vice president, and as members a representative of the General Directorate of Commerce and Business Innovation, the president of the Businessmen Association of the Parque Empresarial Oeste (Asepio), three representatives from the Sewer Merchants Association, one representative from Radio Taxi Alcantarilla, another from the Chamber of Commerce and another from each of the political groups represented in the Municipal Corporation.The main objective of the body is to promote the collaboration of the commercial sector in municipal affairs and to contribute to creating an innovative and competitive commercial infrastructure in the city, adapted to the habits of consumers, as well as to enhance the commercial attractiveness of the city and the improvement in the quality of life.Joaquín Buendía said in this regard that the creation of this body "completes the collaboration that already exists de facto between the City Council and representatives of commerce and businessmen in general in Alcantarilla to become an instrument for improvement."Among the functions of the Council are the promotion of local commerce and economic advice.
