Thirty families in Alcantarilla receive the help of some twenty Civil Protection volunteers who take turns helping them make the purchase and go to the pharmacy or the Virgen de la Arrixaca hospital for their medication.
The aid is provided to the elderly, people with disabilities or reduced mobility, people at risk or mothers who are alone with children in their care in the municipality of Alcantarilla, and who do not have anyone who can help them, with the aim that they stay at home while the state of alarm lasts and thus avoid risks of contagion.
This initiative launched by the Alcantarilla City Council has been in operation for almost a month and has been disseminated on social networks (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram) and on the City Council's website.
Depending on the demand, the twenty volunteers who are part of Civil Protection Alcantarilla take turns to be able to offer the service to the residents of the municipality who need it.
Civil Protection volunteers are fully trained and specialized and know how they should act in these types of tasks.
In addition, they have protective equipment to ensure that they and the people they are going to serve are completely safe.
Aid will be provided from Monday to Friday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Civil Protection also collaborates in the distribution of masks and gowns sewn by volunteers to the health centers that need it, and in the collection of snorkel masks to be able to transform them into respirators for the ICU of the Region's hospitals.
