The Alcantarilla City Council joins the commemoration of World Autism Awareness Day today, with the installation of a banner on the façade of the City Council to recognize and spread the rights of people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (TEA).
In addition, tonight the facade of the City Hall will light up blue as a sign of solidarity with the TEA collective and their families.
The City Council joins a worldwide initiative Light It Up Blue, in which the Autism Confederation of Spain participates, with the aim that 400 buildings and monuments from all over the country will light up in blue today.
The Councilor for Education, Culture and Youth, Marina Lorenzo, stressed that "it is very important that while the confinement lasts for the state of alarm, the neighbors respect, and do not reprimand, those people with ASD who go out alone or accompanied, because for them it is essential to be able to take a walk and that is what the legislation protects ".
The Alcantarilla City Council encourages all residents to participate tonight in the #LIUB challenge proposed by the Autism Confederation, which consists of tonight, at 9:00 p.m., that citizens illuminate their terrace, balcony or window with the lantern of the mobile or other light source, as a sign of solidarity with people with autism, their families and the people who care for them during this Covid-19 health crisis.
In addition, they request that the action be shared on social networks with a photo with the hashtag #DiaMundiaAutismo.
