The Alcantarilla City Council has donated 10 more rolls of cloth with a total of 3,000 meters so that more than one hundred volunteer seamstresses from Alcantarilla, Boatmen and surrounding towns continue sewing masks for hospitals and health centers in the Region of Murcia , and make gowns in the face of the need for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
The City Council donated 1,000 meters of fabric last week, which allowed the delivery of 3,000 masks to the Virgen de la Arrixaca hospital and another 3,000 to the Los Arcos de San Javier hospital.
This morning, masks were delivered to the Health Department, the Reina Sofía hospital, the Casco Alcantarilla Health Center, the Alcantarilla-Sangonera Health Center and the UME.
The City Council is in contact with the General Directorate of Public Health of the Autonomous Community for the distribution of masks and gowns, and has the collaboration of Civil Protection of Sewer.
In the initiative, coordinated by the councilors Paqui Terol and Marina Lorenzo, the company Almohadas Lora participate altruistically with the donation of material and the manufacture of masks, and the company Brisa Jardín de Barqueros.

3D printed material
In addition, the Alcantarilla City Council has set up at its headquarters in the Plaza de San Pedro a point of delivery of 3D printed sanitary material since there are individuals from Alcantarilla and surroundings (Alhama de Murcia, Librilla, Sangonera, El Palmar, La Ñora ... ), organized around the @coronavirusmarkers community, who have a 3D printer at home and make this material altruistically.
The pick-up time of the point will be from Monday to Friday, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
All the material will be delivered to the Murcia Health Service for distribution.
