The City Council of Alcantarilla suspends the limited parking ORA in seven streets of the city, so that the neighbors will be able to park for free while the state of alarm lasts.
The ORA service is maintained on Calle Mayor and some surrounding streets so that citizens can make their essential purchases, since in that area there are 81 open stores.
The Royal Decree that proclaims the state of alarm basically limits economic activity to retail trade and allows the opening of those establishments that offer basic products and services.
In Alcantarilla, on Calle Mayor and its surroundings, there are 81 shops open to the public, among which are five supermarkets, two food stores, five greengrocers, nine food establishments, five bakeries, five butchers and fishmongers, eight financial entities, 16 pharmacies, orthopedics and clinics, six tobacconists and kiosks, three hardware stores, two pet stores, the National Police Station and the butane gas service.
In order that the car parks on these streets are not occupied 24 hours, promote vehicle rotation and that residents of the entire municipality can find parking to make their purchases or unload them, the ORA will be maintained on Mayor streets , Martínez Campos (until crossing with Reyes Católicos), Eras, San Sebastián and Doctor Fleming (in the section that goes to Pedro Noguerolas).
The ORA service will not work and parking will be free while the state of alarm continues on the following streets: Doctor Fleming (from Calle Mayor to Cid Campeador), Calle Sagunto, Avenida Martínez Campos (from Reyes Católicos to Camino de los Romanos) , Reyes Católicos street, Pasos street, Ruiz Carrillo street and Juan XXIII square.
The Mayor of Alcantarilla, Joaquín Buendía, indicated that "the blue zone has existed for many years in our city to allow people who do not reside in the center and come to carry out any management or purchase to park, with the possibility of rotation and parking".
The City Council is taking measures to stop the spread of Covid-19, since last Thursday, in relation to the services offered to citizens and to the internal organization of the City Council, following the guidelines of the regional and national Government.
