The works to provide sanitation and potable water supply to the El Campico neighborhood, and asphalting of streets, have already begun.
The mayor of Alcantarilla, Joaquín Buendía, and the Minister of Water, Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Environment, Antonio Luengo, visited the area to check the progress of work on site.
The mayor said that "these works were very necessary because they will allow half a hundred families in the neighborhood to access drinking water supply and sanitation in their homes," and highlighted "the sensitivity and commitment of the regional government to the needs of Alcantarilla" .
The planned investment in the works is 870,000 euros.
The works consist of the construction of a general collector for the collection of residual water of 1.24 kilometers in length and with a diameter of 500 millimeters, and 2.56 kilometers of branches that will collect the residual waters of the houses, and will connect with an existing collector at the height of the crossing between the Barqueros road (RM-C1) and the MU-30.
In total, 3.8 kilometers of sanitation pipes will be executed.
In addition, a driving of 2.56 kilometers of supply will be carried out and the streets where the works are carried out will be paved.
The execution period is six months.
