Nearly 4,000 people participated today in the VII Race "Alcantarilla Air Base", organized by the Alcantarilla Air Base, with the collaboration of the Alcantarilla City Council, through the Department of Sports, the hamlet of Sangonera la Seca and the Athletics Federation of the Region of Murcia.
The event began at 9:30 am with a solemn raising of the flag of Spain, in Adolfo Suárez square.
The honors were carried out by a picket of seven spenders and a corporal, and raised by a commission of eight military officers with Major Cabo Andreu in front.
The participants started the race at 10 am from the Calle Mayor de Alcantarilla, at distances of 14 kilometers or 5 kilometers.
This year, as a novelty they have been able to walk 5 kilometers.
The runners have had a free luggage service at their disposal, as well as changing rooms, toilets, showers and physiotherapists in the Pavilion "Association of Friends of Futsal.
The VII Race "Alcantarilla Air Base" is supportive and in this edition the proceeds will go to the Public School of Special Education "Eusebio Martínez" of Alcantarilla, the Murcian Association of Cystic Fibrosis and Cáritas Castrense.
This race is the fifth test of the Running Challenge 2020 and was awarded as Best Athletic Event in the 2018/2019 season.
