The City Council of Alcantarilla has dedicated a place to the plastic surgeon Pedro Orenes Lorenzo to pay tribute to the professional career and in the world of sport of this sewer.
The Doctor Pedro Orenes Lorenzo square is located in the former Plaza de los Técnicos, next to José Capel street and the main door of the CEIP Jara Carrillo.
The mayor of Alcantarilla, Joaquín Buendía, and Dr. Pedro Orenes discovered this afternoon the plaque that gives name to the square.
Buendía highlighted the professional successes of this "reputed plastic surgeon", and also highlighted his work in the world of sports, as he was president of ElPozo Murcia Turística FS and vice president of the National Futsal League.
During the act a quintet of teachers and students of the Conservatory of Music of Murcia acted.
The Plenary of the City Council of Alcantarilla agreed in 2013 to name several streets and squares of the municipality, among which was one dedicated to Pedro Orenes.
In 2015 it was approved that the Plaza de Los Técnicos be renamed Doctor Pedro Orenes Lorenzo.
Career path
Pedro Orenes is a well-known specialist in cosmetic and restorative plastic surgery who was born in Alcantarilla on April 26, 1944, in the main street of the city.
He is married to the Maribel Jover sewer, and has two children, Pedro and Monica, and three grandchildren.
Orenes studied medicine at the University of Granada.
He worked as a resident doctor in the National Plastic Surgery service of the National Center for Surgical Specialties of Social Security.
He was a deputy doctor of the National Department of Plastic Surgery of the National Center for Surgical Specialties of Social Security, section chief of the National Department of Plastic Surgery of the National Center of Surgical Specialties Ramón y Cajal of Madrid, deputy doctor of the Plastic Surgery Service Ciudad Sanitaria Virgen de la Arrixaca de Murcia, and head of the Plastic Surgery service of the Red Cross Hospital of Murcia.
He is a full member of the Spanish Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery, a member of the International Society of Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery, a member of the Spanish Chapter of the International Burn Society, a member of the Spanish Society of Aesthetic Medicine, a member of the Royal Academy of Surgery and Medicine of Murcia, full member of the Spanish Society of Liposculpture and diploma in Health from the National School of Health.
In addition, he has studied in London.
In the field of sport, he was president of ElPozo Murcia from the 2000-2001 season to the 2007-2008 season.
Since 2003 he was Vice President of the National Futsal League.
