The City Council of Alcantarilla fulfilled an average period of payment to suppliers of 25 days, during the fourth and last quarter of 2019, below the 30 days established by the law, as reported to the Plenary this morning the Councilor for Finance and Human Resources , Rachel of Peace.
The obligations paid were 2,570,000 euros, and pending payment of an amount of 1,684,000 euros.
In the last quarter of last year the City Council did not pay late interest.
In addition, de la Paz informed the Plenary of the follow-up of the Town Hall Adjustment Plan, for the period 2012-2022.
The City Council complies with all the measures adopted in said plan, the main one being the containment of the expense.
The Consistory has increased its income due to the improvement of the economic activity and the business fabric, due to the cadastral regulation that was carried out in the municipality and the revisions of canons of the farms.
"The increase in income does not entail any tax increase," said De la Paz, who explained that "expenses are being reduced because contracts are being put out to tender and that makes the price adjust."
The debt of the City Council has fallen and is currently 29 million euros.
Another of the measures that the Consistory complies with is having a net saving and a positive cash surplus.
Before the start of the session, José Manuel López Martínez, who replaces María Dolores Jiménez, took office as Councilor for Citizens, who resigned from his Councilor's Minutes in the Plenary of the month of January.
The Councilor for Urban Development, José Luis Bernal, informed the Plenary of the actions that are being carried out to carry out an ordinance that obliges the owners of lots to keep them clean and fenced.
Bernal explained that a census of lots with the name of their owners is being carried out and that once completed, the owners will be notified so that between the months of January and March they clean the lots of the owners they own and valley them, in order to avoid fires and bad smells, by the inert deposit, in summer.
If the owner makes this requirement quickly, he will get bonuses on the municipal land fees.
In addition, the City Council will also force these lots to be fenced with a work wall and that the posts where the electrical wiring are inside the lots, and not on the sidewalks.
VAT refund
The Plenary approved a motion to "express its favorable position for the City Council of Alcantarilla to formally and urgently request, in writing to the Government of Spain, the release of the update of the deliveries on account that correspond to the Autonomous Communities related to VAT collection for the year 2017 corresponding to the month not received ".
In addition, the Government will be asked "to comply with the law and make the payment to the Local Entities of the 753.3 million euros unpaid as a result of the displacement of VAT income in November 2017, charged to the final settlement of the Participation of Local Entities in the 2017 State Taxes ".
In the same proposal, the Government of the country is urged to "urgently adopt the necessary measures to prevent this situation from being reproduced in the liquidation of the Entity's Participation in the State Taxes of successive years".
In the Plenary session, two proposals of the Councilor of the Treasury on extrajudicial recognition of credits were approved, and two motions of the socialist municipal group were rejected on endowing with sufficient human resources the municipal groups of the opposition, and on the realization of an exhaustive study on noise levels in Alcantarilla, with the commitment of the Government Team to update the noise ordinance.
