Tomorrow, Thursday, February 27, the registration period ends to participate in the VII Race "Alcantarilla Air Base", fifth test of the Running Challenge 2020 and awarded as Best Athletic Event in the 2018/2019 season, which is organized by the Alcantarilla Air Base, with the collaboration of the City Council of Alcantarilla, through the Department of Sports, the hamlet of Sangonera la Seca and the Athletics Federation of the Region of Murcia.
The race has a distance of 14 kilometers and there is also the possibility of running 5 kilometers.
The departure is at 10 am in the main street of Alcantarilla and the route is urban.
In the distance of 14 kilometers the interior of the Air Base is crossed.
Among the novelties of this year is the possibility of making the distance of 5 kilometers walking.
In total, more than 3,000 people are expected to participate in the test.
As of today, more than 3,600 runners have already registered.
Registrations can be made at www.carrerabasealcantarilla.com until 8:00 PM tomorrow, for card payments (POS) or until the enrollment limit is reached.
The numbers may be picked up at Decathlon Murcia Oeste (Industrial Estate of Sangonera la Seca) on Friday, February 28, from 12:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., as well as on Saturday, February 29, 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
They can also be picked up on Sunday, March 1 at Plaza Adolfo Suárez de Alcantarilla, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:40 a.m.
It is essential to carry the ID.
The first three absolute winners will be awarded in the 5km event, as well as the first three of each category established in the 14km.
-except for those of functional diversity and walkers, of a participatory nature-.
The runners will have at their disposal a free luggage service, as well as changing rooms, toilets, showers and physiotherapists in the Pavilion "Association of Friends of Futsal", next to the Jara Carrillo school in Entrevías.
Solidary run
The VII Race "Alcantarilla Air Base" is supportive and in this edition the proceeds will go to the Public School of Special Education "Eusebio Martínez" of Alcantarilla, the Murcian Association of Cystic Fibrosis and Cáritas Castrense.
Flag raising before departure
Another novelty of this edition is that before the departure of the corridors, at 9:30 am, a solemn raising of the flag of Spain will be held, in the Adolfo Suárez square.
The honors will be carried out by a picket of seven spenders and a corporal, and raised by a commission of eight soldiers with Corporal Major Andreu in charge.
