The streets of Alcantarilla will be filled with color and music tomorrow Sunday with the celebration of the Great Carnival Parade, in which more than 800 people will participate with 27 parades.
On this occasion 7 parades of Alcantarilla and 20 from different parts of the Region such as Beniaján, Puente Tocinos, El Palmar, Mula, Archena and Librilla will parade, some of them will carry their own floats.
The parade will begin at 11 o'clock in the Termino street, will cross the main street and will end in the San Pedro square, where the prizes will be awarded
All the groups will qualify for the Carnival contest, in which a first prize will be awarded for a local group and another for a visiting group, endowed with 600 euros each;
a second prize of 300 euros, third prize of 200 euros, and three fourth prizes of 100 euros each.
The jury will be chaired by the Councilor for Education, Culture and Youth, Marina Lorenzo, and as vocals will be the singer Salva Ortega, the Queen of the Garden 2016 and choreographer, María López, the Councilor for Organization and Contracting, Francisca Terol, and the Radio broadcaster Carmen Manzanera.
Local Police of Sewer and Civil Protection have a special device to ensure the safety of the participants.
The main street will be closed to traffic from 8 am to 3 pm approximately.
